Paddy cultivation hit by erratic rainfall

Imphal, October 29 2026: Paddy cultivation at Heidrok and Kaborou paddy fields under Keibi Khullen in Imphal East district has been severely affected this year due to erratic rainfall.

Speaking to the media today, Keibi Development Committee secretary Ngangbam Thoiba said there has been no rainfall at all this season, which has severely damaged crops as fields have completely dried up.

Large areas of paddy fields will not yield proper harvest this year, he added.

He appealed to the concerned departments to provide some relief for crop failure.
