Imphal, September 29 2018: Bishnupur district commandos arrested three individuals along with 30 soap cases containing 450 grams of brown sugar, worth around Rs 10 lakh, from Phougakchao Ikhai, under Moirang PS, today.

According to a reliable source, a team of Bishnupur district commandoes, acting on specific information about transportation of some illegal contraband drugs items in and around Phougakchao Ikhai and its surrounding area, rushed to the area and arrested three persons along with 30 soap cases which concealed 450 grams ofbrown sugar, worth around Rs 10 lakh, at around 2.30 pm.

The arrested persons have been identified as Zangmang Khongsai (30) s/o Tongkholun Khongsai, Paolenthang Lhanghar (25) s/o Letminlun Lhanghar (both from Tuibong, Churachandpur) and Sominlun Khongsai (25) s/o Letminthang Khongsai of Tuibong, near CJM Court complex, Churachandpur.

The arrested persons and the seized drugs have been handed over to Moirang PS for necessary legal procedures, the source added.
