Imphal, February 27 2015 : CPI Manipur State Council condoled the demise of veteran party leader Kamong Sharbasingh on Friday.

Sharbasingh from Konthoujam constituency died aged 98.Under the leadership of Jananeta Hijam Irabot, he played an important role in delivering welfare to the famers of the State.

He became a member of the Communist Party of India in 1948 and also took part in the Manipur Statehood movement.

Manipur CPI leaders of Konthoujam and people of Kamong held a condolence meeting on his demise.

CPI State Council also held a condolence meeting at Irabot Bhawan.

A two-minute silence was observed to honour the departed soul.
