Public meeting conducted
Five different bodies of Thongju Part-I conducted a public meeting to discuss development related works of the area at Chingkhei road today.

Thongju AC MLA Thongam Bishwajit attended the meeting as the chief guest.

Cleanliness drive
To commemorate Gandhi Jayanti, Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee organised a cleanliness drive at Congress Bhavan today.

During a short session which was held on the occasion, floral tributes were also paid by CM O Ibobi and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam to honour Mahatma Gandhi.

Snake bite victims saved
The medical team of 12 Bihar of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) saved the lives of two snake bite victims yesterday.

The victims namely, Khumukcham Ruhinidev (55) of Changangei Maning Leikai in Imphal West district and Ritu (28) of Irengbam village were bitten by snakes and they were brought to the medical room of 12 Bihar in critical conditions, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S).

The victims were attended by the medical team and necessary first aid and anti-snake venom injections were administered.

Drinking water provided
20 Assam Rifles of Hqs 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) provided purified drinking water to St Joseph's High School, Chandel district today.

The school has been facing problem due to lack of drinking water facilities.

Sensing the requirement, 20 Assam Rifles provided drinking water to the school and villagers, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .

Condemnation
Zeliangrong Students' Union, Khoupum Area, Khoupum Area Village Authority and Rongmei Luphuam have vehemently condemned the killing of an innocent civilian who was shot dead yesterday by Gorkha Rifles (2/5 Gorkhas).

The act of 2/5 Gorkhas has again proved the extreme atrocities of army personnel against the innocent civilians, the statement said .

Terming the incident as undesirable and condemnable, the statement also urged the army personnel not to repeat such act.

JPO appreciates
The Joint Philanthropic Organisation, Lamka, Churachandpur has conveyed gratitude to various organisations, groups, Churches and individuals for extending assistance to all the family members of those who were killed during a mass protest against the three Bills in Churachandpur.

The statement also appreciated all those who provided assistance to the injured people as well.

License renewal
Kuki Chiefs Association, Moreh Block has urged the authority concerned to extend the date for renewal of gun license of the villagers of the area.

Information and publicity secretary of the association, T Yanglet said that many villagers got information about the Government order on license renewal after the last date expired as they reside at far-flung areas and they were engaged in farming.

In this connection, T Yanglet urged the authority concerned to allow these villagers to renew their licenses till December 20 .

Power supply snag
Manipur State Power Distribution Company Ltd has informed the general public that 11 KV RIMS feeder will be under shutdown on October 3 from 10 am to 5 pm for replacing and adding new 9 M, MS poles in order to eliminate the 11 KV line sag between RIMS and Naoremthong.

As such, RIMS and its surrounding areas would not get power on the day, said a press release.
