Imphal, July 13, 2013:
Nearly a 300 metres long segment of Imphal-Dimapur highway has sunk near Heritage village, Kohima last night on account of which a number of heavy vehicles have been stranded on either side of the highway.
It was only at about 11 am today that light vehicles could travel across the sunken portion after BRTF repaired the same portion to a certain degree.
It is expected that the portion may be repaired fully by tomorrow morning so that heavy vehicles can proceed to their respective destinations without any problem.
A number of heavy vehicles heading for Imphal are now stranded on the highway.
