Imphal, October 23 2026:
The JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Arubam Ronil, Lairenlakpam Inaobi and Kshetrimayum Sushil has stated that all relationships shared between the Government and the public will be severed if Chief Minister Y Khemchand does not visit the bereaved families of the deceased victims and the injured victims by 5 pm of October 25 .
Speaking to media persons at Nongshum today, JAC co-convenor Tonjam Somorjit appealed to all sections of people to continue torch rallies and other forms of protest against the brutal killing of the three civilians at Khongbal Sunurok Uyok Hill on October 19, 2026 until the Government takes up decisive action against Kuki narco-terrorists.
He said that the JAC will continue with different modes of agitation until and unless the Government abrogates the SoO agreement.
So far, neither the Chief Minister nor his Ministers nor any BJP MLA nor any BJP office bearer has visited or shown solidarity with the bereaved families and the injured victims, he said.
"We have learned through the media about the CM Secretariat's intention to hold a meeting with the JAC but the JAC has not yet taken any decision to hold any meeting at the CM Bungalow", Somorjit said.
Chief Minister Y Khemchand has been claiming that peace has returned to the State and he has visited several hill areas but he has not bothered to visit the victims' families of the October 19 terror attack even though Nongshum is only a short distance from Imphal, the JAC co-convenor said.
He appealed to the Chief Minister to visit the bereaved families and the injured victims and ease their pain.
If the Chief Minister does not visit the bereaved families and the injured victims by 5 pm of October 25, a sharp line will be drawn between the Government and the public and all relationships between the two will be severed, he added.
