DM orders surrender of firearms

Imphal, October 23 2026: The District Magistrate, Thoubal, has ordered residents of Sangaiyumpham and Khangabok village to mandatorily deposit all licensed firearms at the Thoubal police station on or before October 24 .

The firearms shall remain deposited at the Thoubal police station till the revocation of the prohibitionary order, said the District Magistrate.

This order came after one Laishram Rakesh of Khangabok Part-II was killed in firing at a musical event on October 18 .
