NESO writes to Prime Minister for compensatory arrangement in Central recruitment

Imphal, November 24 2021: The North East Students' Organisation (NESO) has sought attention of the Prime Minister to provide relaxation in the form of age relaxation and a one time increase in the number of attempts for aspirants of various central examinations affected by COVID-19 pandemic.

In a letter jointly signed by Samuel B Jyrwa, chairman NESO and Sinam Prakash Singh, secretary general NESO, said the candidates or aspirants had to a number of hardship including inability to effectively attempt their examinations and most candidates from remote areas had to leave their study centres back to their native places where they had to bear the intense brunt of the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Keeping all these issues in focus, NESO appealed the Government to offer relaxation for pandemic affected years; provide two years relaxation and two more attempts to all aspirants who had their last attempt in 2020 and give one more attempt to aspirants who had their last chance in 2021.All such relaxations are to be implemented in all exams conducted by the Central Government agencies like UPSC, SSC, IBPS, RBI etc.

The North East Students' Organisation (NESO) is a conglomerate of students unions from the 8 North Eastern States comprising of Khasi Students' Union (KSU), All Assam Students' Union (AASU), Naga Students' Federation (NSF), Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP), Twipra Students' Federation (TSF), All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), Garo Students' Union (GSU) and All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) .
