With the outbreak of Japanese Encephalitis in the state being confirmed by the director of health services, Manipur from lab testing in Dibrugarh, Churacahndpur is still free of the deadly disease said the District Malaria Officer, Dr Thienkhogin (Ginte) talkin to Hueiyen Lanpao today.
Recently some unexpected deaths occurs in the district and Japanese Encephalitis was suspected to be the cause.
However, upon proper investigation the disease of the deaths were found to be other disease like pneumonia and others.
Regarding the death one Mr Lalneimawi,age about 43 of Rengkai last night with a sudden headache, Dr Ginte said, his death was not because of the suspected disease but it was a heartfelt.
The DMO has sent report to the state official regarding the situation in the district, according to official source.
