The Delimitation issue of the District Council constituencies in Tamei sub-division is fast kicking up ruckus than bringing any good in the area.
On Monday, three village chairmen of the area have strongly opposed to the reported exclusion of Takou village from the existing Konphung/Jampi district council constituency while in place, Lenglong village has been included into said constituency.
Chairman of Lower Takou village Ch.Atui, chairman of Konphung village K.Putla and chairman of Upper Takou village G Kasutlakbou have apprised with urgency to the Delimitation Commission of District Council chairman, Manipur to look into the matter at the earliest time or else the issue is bound to invite serious trouble.
In a representation submitted to the Chairman of the Delimitation Commission today, Ch.Atui and G Kasutlakbou stated, "Referring to Draft notification No.3/7/2008 DCDC dated 15/7/2008, the Takou village was bifurcated from the existing Konphung constituency.
This recent incursion proposal or exclusion from existing Konphung constituency will bring political problem in our village." Both the chairmen have pressed the commission not to alter the existing Konphung constituency by excluding Takou village from it.
Meanwhile, K.Putla, chairman of Konphung village expressed the village strong objection regarding the exclusion of Takou village from the Konphung constituency and instead, brought Lenglong village into it.
All the three chairmen alleged that the present development has been created by vested interest "politicians".
