Lamka, April 24:
Indecision, selfish, intolerance and fanatical public leaders of Churachandpur has roped the district of a complete administrative complex the mini-secretariat as the Government has now dropped the Rs 40 crore worth project.
Tussle among the so called public leaders for the mini-secretariat is alleged to be the motive behind the Government decision said a highly placed source today.
'Churachandpur mini-secretariat plan is dropped because of the tussle between your public leaders,' the source quoted Chief Secretary Jarnail Singh as saying.
Initially Rs.20 crore have been sanctioned for commencing the project, however the scuffle for roping the said project in a location of their choice among the political or public leaders has allegedly left the Govt with no choice but to divert the same.
With the mini-secretariat plans now dropped by the Government, 'Churachandpur will be the only district without a mini-secretariat,' further said the source, quoting the Chief Secretary.
The tussle between various intolerant communities' leaders in the district has often roped the district of many an opportunity in the past and going by their attitude today the mini-secretariat impasse will not be the last.
Earlier, the AIR stationed that is all set to go on air turns into a mischievous political stalemate and it's functioning hold back even to this day.
The AIR station here is better equipped than the Imphal station, however failure on the part of the so called leaders to see a community that is not theirs having the prospect of linking the programmes in their own language has rotted the multi-crore equipment obtained by public fund.
The godowns, be it the FCS or the FCI which were often proposed for the district underwent similar showdown, and when coupled by Government apathy and political indecision, the entire affairs turns hoarse.
It won't be long to publicly translate the entire concept of a public leader into a public robber if the trend that besiege Churachandpur home to more than nine tribes of the non-naga state native tribals, continues unabated and keeps on containing public projects.
