The Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAOM) has submitted a memorandum to the government of Manipur and government of India, New Delhi today, demanding to leave the ban imposed on the Education Department, Manipur.
To bring quality education in Manipur in the first priority of DESAOM, says the president of DESAOM L Romesh Meetei in a press meet held today at its head quarter office, Kkeishampat.
He further said that DESAOM has framed a seven point programme to be converted into action.
They are to urge to the authority to leave ban imposed on the education department of Manipur.
It has prepared to launch a mass movement for quality education in the state.
DESAOM demands to install an education commission.
This education commission should cover both lower and higher classes.
DESAOM will also take actions to maintain the academic calendar in the state.
It demands a common syllabus upto Class X standard.
The common syllabus should be based on the atmosphere and culture of Manipur.
It demands a transfer policy in the education department.
In Manipur 2363 primary teachers, 362 high school teachers, 102 higher secondary teachers, 180 college lecturers and 52 professors in MU have been lying vacant now due to the ban on the Education Department.
This effects on the quality education.
Education Department is only the name sake and rot functioning.
All the activities of DESAOM will be related to the education.
