The Zeliangrong Union (ZU) extends warm greetings of Gan-Ngai to one and all with a message of love and joy.
Gan-Ngai is one of the significant festivals of Zeliangrong community; the festival is celebrated jointly of various faiths including Christian to uphold the rich cultural heritage left behind by the ancestors.
Sacred rites and rituals for the well-being of mankind is being performed in all parts of the Zeliangrong areas of neighboring states of Assam and Nagaland.
Traditional way of fire making "MAILAPMEI ' and hoeing "HOIKAOMEI" to signifies the tales of early ancestors and the discovery of fire qualifying man to rule over the world and power over evils and hoeing with the sound of traditional drum beatings heralding the tidings of joy and bright season will also performed.
The festival has many significant values such as to love and respect each other born to shape discipline, manner and behavior.
The Zeliangrong Union hopes such celebration will bring peace, harmony and reconciliation to all mankind and enrich the cultural heritage of the forefathers and will bring cultural tight between various communities living in the state of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland.
