The two BSF men who went missing during the four day intense gun fight with the MPLF at Sajik Tampak have returned safe and sound.
Disclosing this to media persons at his office chamber this evening, BSF DIG, PK Misra said the two BSF men, Laloo Bhai and K Nandakishore returned to the BSF camp at Sugnu safe and sound today.
Two BSF personnel including, the Assistant Commandant of the 2nd Bn BSF Vivek Saxena and a Constable Harinder Singh were killed in the four day gun battle.
One AK-47 rifle, two magazines and one wireless set were taken away by the militants.
To a query, the DIG said the BSF did not seek the assistance of other security force as the militants were holed up in a strategic place where weapons with low range would not have made any impact.
The other forces are not equipped with long range weapons.
BSF used mortars and Automatic Grenade Launchers during the gun fight, he informed and added that the MPLF cadres used grenade launchers, rocket launchers and UMGs.
