Following the directive of the Union Planning Commission to the State Government to fix the Plan size of the next fiscal by increasing 10 percent from the Plan size of the current fiscal year, an official meeting on the resources of the State has been convened on November 30 .
An official source informed The Sangai Express that following the directive from the Union Planning Commission, the State Planning Department has intimated all Government Departments to prepare Plan proposals for the next fiscal.
The total Plan size of the current fiscal is Rs 1550 crores.
This includes Rs 550 crores sanctioned under Special Plan Assistance.
Towards finalising the State's Plan size for the next fiscal year, officials of the Union Planning Commission and State Government officials will hold a meeting on November 30 at New Delhi.
The meeting would also deliberate on the resources of the State, informed the source.
This would be followed by a meeting of the working group comprising of Planning Commission officials and State Government officials next month.
Earlier, the working group held its meetings only after the Plan size has been finalised.
After studying the State's resources and meeting of the working group held, Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Montek Singh Alluwahlia and Chief Minister O Ibobi would decide the State's Plan size in January or February next year.
Incidentally, Chief Minister O Ibobi has instructed all Heads of Departments to utilise the allotted Plan amount for the current fiscal expeditiously.
The Chief Minister made the instruction after reviewing utilisation of the Plan amount.
It was found that only 20 percent of the allotted Plan amount has been utilised so far.
The fund sanctioned under SPA remained almost unused.
