Imphal, January 07 2016:
Like many other LPG distributors of the State, Bingpa Indane Gramin Vitrak, Ukhrul district has issued refills to all its consumers who made their bookings on January 2 or earlier.
Altogether 69 consumers who made their bookings from January 3 to 7 are awaiting refills.
Although Bingpa Indane Gramin Vitrak has been distributing 108.12 refills in a day on the average, its performance is rated poor.
Nonetheless, one of its consumer namely Pheomila D has been issued 12 domestic refills this financial year.
Tharingchon Duidang, SD Phareipam, Songram, Philao and Ninglun Awungshi have been issued 11 refills each.
Bingpa Indane Gramin Vitrak has around 1142 active consumers but majority of the consumers have received refills below the ave- rage rate of consumption.
Nonetheless some consumers have received eight to ten refills.
It is estimated that one domestic LPG refill can last 45 days in a family of eight members.
As such, it is high-ly questionable whether those families who have been given 10 to 12 refills used all the refills.
Even though the annual LPG allocation to each consumer is 12 refills, vast majo- rity of LPG consumers in the State could not get the full allocated quota of refills.
At the same time, one can buy LPG refills from black markets without much difficulty.
Meanwhile, normal LPG bottling activity has resumed at Sekmai bottling plant since yesterday.
Notably, bottling activity was suspended after some mechanical pipes were damaged by the devastating earthquake of January 4 .
