Even as the worried villagers of Kabui Khullen Part-1, the epicentre of January 4 devastating earth-quake, are still taking shelter at two relief camps, large cracks developed during the quake at Noney (Longmai) Part-1 ejected vapour-smoke today morning.
Kabui Khullen Part-1 is located around 30 Kms (road distance) away from Noney, which is 60 Kms away from Imphal on NH-53.Kabui Khullen resident Ajon Ramrei said that the tremor was so powerful that all the villagers are still shocked and they have refused to return to their res- pective houses after the quake.

On the otherhand, quantity of water flowing down from the hill streams has increased after the tremor.
Noney Part-1 resident Dingang Kamei said that vapour-like smokes were seen coming out from the cracks today morning.
However, when some reporters rushed to the locality in the afternoon, there was no smoke.

Meanwhile, another unusual thing could be witnessed at Langpangthok area of Noney Part-2.Usually, streams of this area do not have enough water even during the rainy season, he said.
However, huge quantity of water has started flowing down the streams of the area after the earthquake, he said.
