AR conducts cycle rallies in CCpur, Kakching

To promote 'Fit India Initiative' under the Khelo India Scheme, Assam Rifles organised a special edition of its Sunday cycle campaign which 20 students of various ages along and AR personnel participated.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the campaign flagged off from the Khuga Assam Rifles camp proceeded till the Khuga dam and back to the starting point.
The rally emphasised the benefits of cycling as an enjoyable, healthy and environmentally friendly pursuit, offering the young participants an accessible entry point into an active lifestyle and sporting opportunities.
During an interactive session, Assam Rifles officials spoke on the far-reaching value of fitness as an essential aspect of daily life and encouraged the youth to pursue sports and wellness activities inspired by the national 'Fit India Initiative' .
On the other hand, in a dual endeavour to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas and advance the objectives of the 'Fit India Initiative', Assam Rifles conducted a cycle rally from Kakching to the Khongjom War Memorial.
The event paid homage to the unmatched bravery and supreme sacrifice of Indian soldiers in the 1999 Kargil conflict, while simultaneously nurturing a culture of sports and inclusivity in keeping with the ethos of the Khelo India Scheme, the PRO informed.
A total of 65 enthusiasts, comprising Assam Rifles personnel and Kakching district police, united for the occasion, exemplifying camaraderie and the collective pursuit of physical fitness, environmental awareness and national pride.
The route, winding through the picturesque landscapes of the valley, lent a poignant backdrop to a journey culminating at the historic Khongjom War Memorial, itself a powerful emblem of India's martial tradition and courage, the PRO added.
