Assam Rifles celebrates 190th Raising Day

Imphal, March 26 2025: Assam Rifle's celebrated the 190th Assam Rifles Raising Day in Churachandpur district on Monday by honouring the unflinching dedication and commitment of the martyred soldiers, veterans and the serving soldiers of Assam Rifles & Indian Army and their families.

According to PRO IGAR (S), commemorative event was attended by war veterans, ex-serviceman, veer naris, serving soldiers and families of Assam Rifles as well as Indian Army.

A general awareness lecture on pay and allowances, and a medical camp were also conducted as part of the celebration as officials from banks, civil administration and aadhaar centre established kiosks at Khuga village for easy and seamless grievance redressal of the veterans, serving soldiers and veer naris and families.

The event culminated with the felicitation of the 1971-72 war veterans and veer naris with an overwhelming response from the soldiers and their families, the PRO conveyed.

On the other hand, Assam Rifles conducted a veteran's outreach campaign in connection with the 190th Raising Day, during which eight veterans of Assam Rifles were honoured with a token of appreciation and recognition of their dedicated service to the Nation and the Force.

The veterans were also sensitised about various welfare schemes, educational initiatives and employment opportunities available for their children and dependents, the PRO informed.
