UG cadres held, vehicles recovered

Imphal, August 27 2024:
Four cadres of KCP (PWG) including one woman were arrested by Bishnupur police commandos from Nambol Thongkha area along with one Tata Magic, a pistol and one live round at around 4 pm yesterday.
In a follow-up action, six four-wheeler vehicles and other items were recovered from Kangmong area this morning.
At around 4 pm yesterday, a combined team of Bishnupur commandos and civil police saw two persons roaming around shops in a suspicious manner in Nambol Thongkha area.
As the combined team rushed towards them, they fled toward Imphal side in a vehicle.
The commando team chased and detained the vehicle.
Four persons including a female were found inside the vehicle and they were identified as Khundrakpam Rojit Singh (28), Thokchom Sonu Singh (23), Khoirakpam Abhinash Singh (21) and Khundrakpam (O) Victoria Devi (26).
They revealed that they are cadres of KCP (PWG) .
The commando team recovered one pistol having one live round, four mobile phones, Rs 900 in cash and one Tata Magic vehicle from their possession.
They were later handed over to Nambol police station along with the seized items, said sources.
In a follow-up action, Bishnupur district police and commandos carried out a massive search operation in Langoljam Kangjeibung, Kangmong, Leimaram and Heinoubok areas.
The police team discovered one hideout of KCP (PWG) but the cadres who were staying there fled toward Leimaram area.
On searching the area, the combined teams recovered one Scorpio, one I20 car, one Eeco van, one Bolero, one Maruti van and one Magic van, a large number of combat dresses, boots, belts, sleeping bags, blankets, bullet-proof vests, helmets, stand fans, chairs, mattresses, cookery items, dishes etc.
The cordon and search operation was still continuing at the time of filing this report, said the sources.
