Cash incentives ranging from Rs 1000 to Rs 200 each were handed over to 10 individuals who are either maimed due to injuries or widowed in the aftermath of the June 18, 2001 incidents.

The amount were distributed as monthly pension to these persons, among whom included one Sobita Devi who had one of her legs amputated, under the sponsorship of noted stone case physician Laishram Nabakishore.
Sobita Devi received a monthly pension incentive of Rs 1000 while Rs 200 each were handed over to the other nine victims of the massive public agitation in June, 2001.These amounts are to be paid for life.
The pension distribution programme was organised under the aegis of columnist Sapam Gita at Singjamei Girls' High School today with MLA RK Anand and social worker Th Iboyaima gracing the occasion as chief guest and president respectively.
Social activists Sanasam Umananda and Yumnam Khemchand were the guests of honour.
