Post poll violence at Thongju UNACCO employees protest

Employees of UNACCO today staged a sit-in before the gate of UNACCO office located at Khongman against the burning and dismantling of UNACCO tower and some houses a couple of days back.
Administrative staff, school staff and transporters of UNACCO took part in the sit-in.
It may be mentioned that the office of the private firm and houses were set blaze by a mob in a post poll violence in the night of Nov 24 .
However, UNACCO has a different story about the incident.
Soibam Lalitchandra, in-charge of UNACCO School Transport Dept said that the violent incident occurred when supporters of BJP candidate of Thongju AC, Th Bishwajit started using and shouting provocative words.

UNACCO is not involved in politics.
However, the BJP supporters shouted provocative slogans.
One Neken was beaten up by the mob when he intervened when the mob raised the provocative slogans.
A lady security personnel of UNACCO was attacked with stones when she tried stopping the mob from beating Neken, Lalitchandra said.
There were only 25/30 staff of the school when the incident took place.
The incident was pre- planned, he said.
There was also no incident of calling in the staff of UNACCO's Porompat office to Khongman after the incident.
The gunfire was also opened by the escort personnel of the MLA, Lalitchandra alleged.
N Kuber, brother of N Irabanta, MD of UNACCO is still undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital after receiving bullet injury in the incident, he said.
UNACCO tower, the house of Kuber, and the house of the MD were set ablaze.
Four cars and 7 two-wheelers parked inside the UNACCO complex were set ablaze.
The damage was estimated to be worth about Rs 1.50 crore, Lalitchandra said.
