CCpur JAC in Delhi to meet Prez, PM

New Delhi, October 10 2015 :
A ten member delegation comprising of the Joint Action Committee Against Anti-Tribal Bills and the All Tribal Students Union, Manipur (ATSUM) are currently camping in New Delhi.
According to the delegates, they are here to meet different Union Ministers, specifically the Union Minister for Home, the Union Tribal Affairs Minister and other key Ministers such as the DoNER.
"We are here specifically to meet the President and appeal to him not to give his assent to the three anti-tribal Bills," Mangchinkhup Guite , JAC convener told The Sangai Express today.
The convener also stated that they will be seeking a meeting with the Prime Minister of India.
The delegates also told that they will hold several consultative meetings with the Delhi based tribal student bodies and will also meet various tribe based civil society organizations.
The JAC convener said that they will be interacting with youths and tribal people from Manipur who are residing in Delhi.
While the delegates did not spell out clear result or actions as yet, they are hopeful that they will receive positive responses in the coming days.
"We are seeking for withdrawal of the three Bills," asserted the delegates, adding, "we have just arrived, it will take some days, we will definitely come out with concrete statements in a few days," said Mangchinkhup.
It may be mentioned that as the delegates wait for responses from the President, the Prime Minister and other relevant Central leaders to their stand and demands, the JAC will be working out their future course of actions eventually.
