Thoubal, July 27 2025: The 1st KM Memorial Award - 2025, instituted in memory of late Aribam Kumar Sharma of Wangjing Bazar by his family, was distributed on Saturday at Lamding Bazar community hall.

Organised by the Aribam family, the event honoured the state toppers of this year's Class X and XII examinations, toppers from Thoubal district, achievers from Wangjing-Lamding village, and journalists from Thoubal district in the presence of Khangabok MLA Okram Surjakumar, former MLA O Landhoni Devi, Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School principal M Muhindro, Manipur University of Culture librarian Th Khomdon, and Lamding Higher Secondary School principal N Bimolini Devi as the presidium members.

Speaking at the function, MLA Surjakumar expressed concern over the disruption caused to the academic environment owing to unrest situation and other issues besieging the state.

Calling time lost during such disturbances as irreplaceable, he advised the students to focus on their studies to achieve their life goal.
