AR conducts outreach programme

Assam Rifles on Monday organised an outreach programme on the theme 'Fostering connections across generations' at Old Age Home, Chassad in Kamjong district.
A release by PRO IGAR (S) informed that the programme was aimed at providing compassionate care and support to residents of the old age home in Kamjong with the primary objective to provide companionship and emotional sustenance to the elderly residents, fostering understanding and empathy across different age groups.
The event which was attended by around 90 elderly persons included interactive sessions, followed by lunch and distribution of essential commodities, including food items, it informed.
On the other-hand, Assam Rifles on Monday organised friendly volleyball matches for the residents of Sorde village in Kamjong district, to showcase their commitment and proactive approach to connect with the local community.
According to the PRO, the matches were participated by total of 68 villagers from Sorde, including members of the Sorde village volleyball team.
The village team emerged victorious in the final match, winning three out of five sets played.
Following the matches, the company commander of Sorde Company Operating Base engaged in conversations with the villagers, followed by refreshments to all the participants and the audience.
