Imphal, July 27 2025: Office of the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), Thoubal has informed that a newborn baby girl was found abandoned at Tentha Khunou Hao Loukhong culvert along Moirang Palli IVR.

In a release, DCPO Robindro Salam said that the child found around 8.50 pm on July 25 has been declared as abandoned by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Thoubal under the provision of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act, 2015.Any person who can identify true relationship with the said child can make their claim for the said child at Child Welfare Committee, Lamding Wangjing Bazar near electricity complaint room, Thoubal (7005515397), Specialised Adopted Agency (SAA), Thoubal Mela-ground near community hall (9612278419) and District Child Protection Unit and North Block 2nd Floor, DC Complex, Thoubal (7005123371) by providing relevant documents of proof to support their identity and their exact relationship with the child within a period of two months with immediate effect.

Failure to do so, the said child will be declared as legally free for adoption and hence processed accordingly as per the provisions of the Adoption Regulations Act, 2022, he added.
