NCC camp, donation drive conducted

Assam Rifles provided administrative and training assistance in the smooth conduct of NCC camp at Modi in Chandel district from July 14 to 22 .
Informing that the camp was a hub of dynamic activities facilitated by the Assam Rifles, with 32 enthusiastic cadets from SEMCO College and United College, Chandel, PRO IGAR (S) said in a release that the cadets were provided briefing about the security forces' way of life, as well as crucial training at the firing range.
The cadets were impressed by the comprehensive weapon display and enjoyed an educational visit to the unit library and quarter guard.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles organised a week-long donation camp for the Shun-gri Educational Centre for children in Sorde village, Kamjong district, which provides basic education to BPL students and orphans.
The event saw the participation of 15 Assam Rifles personnel and 48 civilians, including 18 students and three teachers from the centre.
The collected donations were handed over to the centre's authorities, providing much-needed relief after recent heavy rains caused significant damage to their residential building, said the PRO in another release, adding that the children thanked Assam Rifles for organising the donation camp and pledged to strive for enrolment in the security forces.
