Kakching, July 27 2025: Sirti Thiimjiitam Soukhre (STS)/Monsang Naga Students' Union felicitated meritorious students of the Monsang community during the STS Award 2025 programme held at Liwa Sarei village in Chandel district on Saturday.

Delivering the welcome note, STS president Gedion Kiirii emphasised the importance to encourage students who excel in their studies or other fields.

The event was attended by Pantha ex-ADC-member Sh Manglem, Sirti Upa Ruh (SUR) president Ng Benithan, Sirti Sanuw Ruh (SSR) president W Chancila, and Chandel food safety officer and Monsang Association president Dr Sh Wilson as members on the dais.

Besides students who achieved high marks in the class X and XII examinations conducted by BSEM, COHSEM and CBSE, those who excelled in other fields were also felicitated.

They include Konthang Ngoruh Monsang, conferred the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD); Ngiirii Ningsihhgam Patrick of Japhou Upper Primary School, first position winner of the State Level Quiz Competition under "Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA Elementary) 2024-25"; Ngurtiti Rothangrii Monsang of Japhou village, Chandel, who figures in the Top 100 Students in India under the secondary stage category in the Veergatha 4.0 Contest organised by the Gallantry Awards Portal Of India; and Thumthiti Alana Rhingbortin Monsang, student of Martial Arts Taekwondo Club, Chandel who bagged the gold medal at the 5th India Progressive Cup National Open Championship 2025 under cadet category , held in Howrah, West Bengal.
