Thoubal, March 26 2025: A 72-year old woman who had gone missing since March 17 was found dead near Tangjeng Water Supply Scheme in Waithou Pat area on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased woman has been identified Ningombam Ibemu w/o (L) Ningombam Ibobi of Thoubal Ningombam Mayai Leikai, Singam Leirak.

Ibemu's family had filed a missing report to the police station concerned and also sent out missing reports on the local newspapers and TV Channels, hoping to find her.

On Tuesday afternoon, her lifeless body was found floating amongst the vegetation (phum) of a dug-up pond, previously used for fish farming, located at a distance of 150 metres west of Tangjeng Water Supply office.

After Thoubal Police and forensic experts conducted an inquest of the body late in the evening, it was shifted to JNIMS morgue for post-mortem examination, a report conveyed.
