Imphal, June 17: In different violent incidents which took place in the last 48 hours, a former KCP cadre has been killed while two other individuals including a Meira Paibi leader sustained injuries.

A former KCP was shot dead by unidentified gun men at Sinam Lounou under Heingang police station at about 3.30 pm of June 15.The deceased has been identified as Maibam Khomdon (34) s/o Tombi of Yumnam Patlou.

He was a cadre of the proscribed KCP for about 10 years before he surrendered to police recently.

According to information received from the spot, Khomdon and his wife Baby Devi were brought there by some individuals who came on a Honda Activa and Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle before they shot Khomdon to death in front of his wife.

Khomdon sustained fatal bullet injuries on the head and chest.

The corpse was picked up by police on the day of the incident and post mortem conducted on the same before handing it over to family members.

In another incident that took place on the same day (June 15) at about 6 pm, a local Meira Paibi leader was shot at the left calf by some unidentified persons at Komlakhong under Mayang PS.

The injured victim has been identified as Laishram Ibelei (50) s/o Tomba.

She is secretary of the local Meira Paibi group.

According to family sources, Ibelei remained untraceable since she was called out by some unidentified persons at about 7 pm of June 13 .

After being treated at RIMS, Ibelei has been discharged as her condition was out of danger.

In the third incident, one Okram Rabi alias Madhumangol alias Eka (22) s/o Dharma of Kha-Jiri Manang Leikai was hit by a stray bullet at his right calf.

He is currently undergoing treatment at RIMS.

According to sources, Okram Rabi was hit by the bullet when an M-20 pistol he was cleaning accidentally went off.

The accident took place at Thangjarok, Bishnupur district.

A police source informed that Rabi is a trained cadre of the proscribed KYKL.
