The 14th death anniversary of Yendrembam Ibohanbi who was the founder of The Eternal Spring English School at Sekta in Imphal East District was observed today along with paying befitting tributes.
Popularly known as 'Baji', late Ibohanbi was also a former member of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party.

While alive he paid special attention on the education of the people especially the youths of Sekta.
With this main objective in mind, he founded The Eternal Spring English School in 1988.At that time, the school had classes from KG to IV standard.
Today, it has classes upto X.Along with granting recognition by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur, the students of the school started appearing in the class X examination since 1997 .
In this year's class X examination conducted by the Board, in all 43 students have appeared in the examination out of which 31 of them passed in class division while the rest in second division.
From KG class to X stsndard, a total of around 900 students are enrolled in the school.
The death anniversary was organised by the managing committee of the school.
As part of the observance, students of the school took out a procession from the school campus to the memorial of the late founder at Sekta Mayai Leikai where they were joined by their teachers and other managing committee members in paying floral tributes to the departed soul.
Afterward the main observance function was held at the campus of the school with school principal N Ibomcha Singh as chief guest, ex-president of managing committee of the school H Ibohal as functional president and vice president and advisor of the school H Yaiskul as guest of honour.
Students from Yourabung High School, Lamlai High School and Central High School, Challou also attended the function.
It may be recalled here Yendrembam Ibohalbi was killed by the security forces in an encounter which took place at Heitupokpi of Andro on July 1, 1995 .
