Security beefed up ahead of Rajnath's visit

Even as the State Government and Central security forces have stepped up security ahead of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh's visit, a team of NSG led by an SP rank officer, has arrived in the State capital to supervise the security arrangements today.
Soon after their arrival, the NSG team met high ranking officers of State police and Central security forces.
A large number of State security forces personnel have been deployed along Tiddim road where the Home Minister's cavalcade will pass through to reach Raj Bhavan tomorrow.
After his landing at Tulihal airport, Rajnath Singh is scheduled to fly by a special helicopter of Indian Air Force to Moreh.
He will visit immigration centre and proposed immigration check post (IPC) site in the border town.

Later, after meeting the public leaders of Moreh at 6 Assam Rifles garrison, the Home Minister will return to Tulihal airport by the same helicopter.
He will then go straight to Raj Bhavan.
Meanwhile, State security forces intensified checking and frisking at different localities ahead of the Home Minister's visit.
A new CCTV camera has been installed near the gate of BJP Manipur Pradesh office, where an unexploded IED was recovered recently.
As part of the security measures taken up ahead of Rajnath Singh's visit, Imphal East district police conducted cordon and search operations at KR Lane and Bamon Leikai areas under Porompat police station and detained nine persons including two bailout persons this morning.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Imphal East Additional SP (Operations), Singhajit and Imphal East Commando OC Vaiphei.
All the locals including women were called out from their respective houses and verified by the police team.
Seven persons, who could not produce proper identification proof documents, were detained at KR Lane and two bail-out persons at Bamon Leikai.
They were later handed over to Porompat police station for further verification.
The district police also carried out frisking and checking at many important areas of Imphal East.
