Khudei Khunou PHSC inaugurated

With an objective to enhance health care facilities in remote areas, Tengnoupal MLA D Korungthang inaugurated a Primary Health Sub-Centre building at Khudei Khunou village in Chandel district today, reports our correspondent.
The inaugural function was also graced by Dr N Birchandra Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Chandel, State Nodal Officer (AYUSH) Dr Morung Benedict and Dr Mekhulshim, medical officer, Komlathabi PHC as the presidium members.
Speaking at the inaugural function, D Korungthang said that the State Government aims to provide proper health facilities to the people.
However, role of doctors, nurses and other medical staff is important to implement the facilities and provide proper medical services to the people.
While appealing to the people to inculcate the habit of availing medical treatment at the initial stage, the MLA further maintained that the habit of getting medical examination only at the critical stage and blaming the doctors for poor service should not be practised.
Chandel CMO, Dr N Birchandra Singh said that Primary Health Sub-Centre is the basic health care institution where one can avail the facilities of institutional delivery, antenatal check up, routine immunizations besides treatment of minor diseases.
If the medical staff of a PHSC work sincerely, health conditions of the people would improve tremendously, Birchandra.
Chiefs of the surrounding villages, Church leaders, ASHA's and other medical staff members also attended the inaugural function.
