Ibobi takes up matter with PM

Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has informed that he has talked with the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister to resurvey the border with Myanmar in connection with the loss of border pillars along the Indo-Myanmar border.
Addressing media persons at his office today, the Chief Minister informed that he has written to the PM and HM and also met them and talked about the resurvey of the 318 km shared border between the two countries in connection with the loss of border pillars, to solve the same.
Ibobi Singh also assured that the Government of India will never give away a portion of Manipur without the consent of the State Government.
He was informed about the 10 km international border fencing at Moreh that 10 metre from the international border was reserved as no-man's land on India's territory and then the fencing is being done.
The CM also informed that an all weather road will be constructed near the border.
When asked that 50-100 metres have been encroached at some area in the border fencing, he said he will look into the matter.
It may be recalled that in the 10 km international border fencing, the fencing had been done in the middle of a village and some villages have to shift their entire village.
