Kakching, January 27 2025: A three-day workshop cum seminar on preservation and promotion of traditional practices and culture of Tarao community held as part of the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh/ Tribal Pride Year concluded at Leishokching community hall in Chandel district.

Tarao Folk Song/Dance Competition cum Exhibition based on the Tarao traditional costumes was held on the concluding day of the workshop organised jointly by Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Tribal Affairs and Hills Department, and Tarao Ankaang Ruul/ Tarao Tribe Union under the aegis of Ministry of Tribal Affairs, on Saturday.

The valedictory function was attended by Chandel ADC ex-MDC Manglem Monsang and TRI administrative cum research officer John Gaidingam as chief guest and president respectively.

Also present on the dais were Chothe Lim Abom Manipur (CLAM) president Thao Malsawm, Bujuur Aachung Puh (BAP) president Ch Francis Moyon, BAP former president R Jindashing Moyon, Tarao Ankaang Ruul/Tarao Tribe Union (TAR/TTU) president Kh Akbar, TAR/TTU speaker Dr Shanoi Moses, Leishokching village chief M Kanson Tarao and other chief/chairman of Tarao village.
