International Dance Day celebrated

Kakching, April 29 2024:
Kunjalata Dance Performing & Research Centre, Kakching celebrated International Dance Day at the centre's Kakching Wairi Kamala Pareng complex on Monday.
The celebration was attended by Guru Shougaijam Temba and chief functionary/secretary of the centre Kshetrimayum Kunjalata.
Artistes of the centre performed Guru Vandana, Nata Sankirtan, Khubak Ishei, Folk Song, Lai Haraoba Jagoi and Manipuri classical dance as a part of the programme.
Meanwhile, National Awardee Manipuri dance exponent Dr Khangembam Khoni jointly with Meetei Indigenous Thang-Ta and Cultural institute, Imphal supported by Phunga Heritage launched a campaign 'healing the pain' on the occasion of International Dance Day at the relief camp set up at Government Music & Dance College Palace Compound.
In a release, it informed that the idea of the campaign is to share a moment with the brothers and sisters staying in relief camp, stand by their side and showcase the rich Meetei cultural arts forms.
The campaign will continue in other relief camps in near future, it added.
