Institutions join Republic Day celebrations

Imphal, January 27 2025:
Sainik School, Imphal celebrated the 76th Republic Day with patriotic zeal and fervour at the school on Sunday.
School principal Col A Rajiv unfurled the tri- colour and advised the cadets to remember their duties and responsibilities to protect the sovereignty of the nation and also to render their selfless contribution towards the cause of the country.
A speech competition was organised to commemorate the occasion and prizes distributed to the winner cadets.
Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) also celebrated the 76th Republic Day with much zeal and patriotic fervour.
The event was attended by RIMS director professor G Sunil Kumar Sharma as chief guest, along with faculty members, staff, students and other dignitaries.
The event witnessed hoisting of the national flag and a keynote address , highlighting Republic Day's significance, the values of the Constitution, and RIMS's contributions to healthcare and education.
The Indian Institute of Information Technology Manipur (IIITM) also celebrated the 76th Republic Day at its city campus in Mantripukhri.
The celebration was attended by IIITM director professor Krishnan Baskar as the chief guest.
Professor Krishnan Baskar reminded the gathering about the significance of the day, highlighting diverse achievements made by the citizens of the country at both national and global platforms.
He mentioned that, India stands tall as a leader in digital technology, revolutionising connectivity and governance through initiatives like Digital India, which bridges gaps and empowers millions, the achievements in space exploration, marked by ISRO's missions like Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan, which inspires us to dream beyond the skies.
The High Court of Manipur, too, celebrated the 76th Republic Day at its court complex in Mantripukhri, where Chief Justice D Krishnakumar hoisted the tricolour.
A band platoon from the Manipur Police Training College, Pangei, played the national anthem, and the 29th BSF gave the national salute.
The event was attended by Justices A Bimol and Guneshwar Sharma, Manipur Judicial Academy director Justice Kh Nobin, advocate general Lenin Singh Hijam, Bar Council of Manipur chairman Brajabihari Singh, High Court Bar Association of Manipur president Y Nimolchand, All Manipur Bar Association president P Tomcha, High Court registrar Ojesh Mutum, bar members, judicial officers, and registry staff.
The Quick Response Team (QRT) of the 29th BSF demonstrated on tactical intervention in the event of terrorist attack at the court as a part of the event.
A painting competition for the children of lawyers and registry officials was also held in three categories.
The 76th Republic Day was also celebrated at the directorate of prisons, and Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa.
Jail SP SK Bhadrika unfurled the National flag at the directorate office.
As part of the celebration, commendation certificates were awarded to 18 officers, staff, and personnel from Manipur Central Jail, Imphal, Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa, and the 5th IRB posted at Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa, for their dedication and exceptional service in 2024.In a separate event, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Manipur unit celebrated the day under the leadership of RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale at Bhaskar Prabha, Imphal West.
The event commenced with Hosabale hoisting the national flag as attendees joined in singing Wande Mataram' .
