Fire Service saved ₹4.75 er from fire damages in 2024

Imphal, January 02 2025:
Along with receiving total of 358 emergency calls in the year 2024, swift response by Manipur Fire Service teams managed to save sum of Rs 4,75,13,250 from fire damages.
In a release, Manipur Fire Service, Imphal informed that Rs 51,38,17,700 were lost in fire incidents.
It also received 41 special calls related to drowning cases and other emergencies involving both humans and animals, saving 30 lives and recovering 11 bodies.
The Department also carried out 688 hre audits for implementation of safety protocols at 33 hospitals, 15 hotels, 408 schools, 109 bank/offices and 104 commercial buildings, recounted the release, adding that there are 19 functional fire stations and 308 personnel including ministerial staff.
It also informed about the Department placing proposal for procurement of modern fire-fighting and rescue vehicles and opening of new fire sub-stations at four suitable locations, and conduct of life safety training programme at headquarters of different districts.
