Kakching school football team felicitated

Kakching, April 07 2023: The football team of Padma Ratna English School, Kakching, which will be playing the final match of Pan India Inter School Football Tournament, Youth Football Championship at the Emirates Stadium of Arsenal Football Club in London on June 2, was felicitated on Friday at the school's multipurpose hall in Kakching.

The team will be facing Amenity Public School, Hal-dawani in the final match in London.

The Five A-side Pan India Inter School Football Tournament, Youth Football Championship is organised jointly by Extra Marks, a leading digital learning solution provider, and Arsenal Football Club England.

The team comprising players and officials was given a warm welcome at Imphal Airport on Friday by teaching and non-teaching staff, managing committee and students of Padma Ratna English School along with the parents of the players.

Later, a felicitation function was organised at the school during which school managing committee vice president Moirangthem Mukundo, secretary Khumukcham Sundari, executive member Dr Salam Khogen, principal in charge Shougaijam, Kakching Police Station OC Wangkheimayum Romi Singh and SRO Manipur Malemnganba Khundrakpam took part.

It may be mentioned that Padma Ratna English School defeated Kadambur English School, Kannur by four goals to nil in the tournament held in Goa to storm into the final.

The Padma Ratna English School football team comprises Naorem Jacky, Thokchom Ad-itya, Naorem Niranjay, Shougaijam Nelson, Maisnam Nashir and Mayanglambam Oscar.

A total of 840 teams from across India, including 28 from the north-eastern states, took part in the championship held in different states.
