Irilbung PS launches anti-liquor drive

Imphal, January 27 2025: Teams of Irilbung police station (PS) on Monday evening carried out drives at Bashikhong, Uchekon.

and Irilbung Bazar against unauthorised operation of liquor outlets and arrested people selling and consuming liquor.

According to a source, after receiving numerous complaints of unlicensed liquor shops opening in areas under Irilbung PS and both young and old consuming liquor, and rise in cases of domestic violence, the PS carried out the drive in Bashikhong, Uchekon and Irilbung Bazar areas from around 6pm Monday.

During the drive, the teams arrested 12 people found selling arid drinking liquor, and also seized some liquor.

The PS has initiated legal action against the arrested persons, the source conveyed.
