Imphal, May 24 2023:
While observing that the state government has been maintaining stoic silence in-spite of gravity of the situation in the state and trust of the people in the government fading gradually, BJP MLA Lourembam Ra-meshwar said as he could no longer tolerate indifferent attitude of the government he will join hands with the public in saving Manipur.
Addressing media persons at his Kanglapat official quarters here on Wednesday, Keirao MLA Rameshwar said that since the outbreak of com-munal violence in the state, people of Manipur particularly those in the valley have been expressing dissatis-faction over the attitude and conduct of the government.

Maintaining that he cannot remain silent as an MLA of a party whose leaders have not uttered a single word despite being fully aware of the growing disenchantment of the people towards the government, Rameshwar said that he would meet the union home minister and take his decision according to the stand of the home minister.
While disclosing that though he is a BJP MLA he has various grievances towards the party for a long time, Rameshwar said that it is now clear as to how the party looks upon people of the valley.
Central forces has even resorted to assaulting media persons and personnel of fire service depart-ment in addition to undermining the plight and sense of insecurity among people living in the foothill villages.
Under such condition he has no desire to be in the party and it is also not right for him to be the representative of Keirao assembly constituency.
It is now time to save Manipur by going along with the public in the field, he added.
The MLA further informed that every house of Meitei is a temple and these temples have been burnt down mercilessly.
Temples of the Hindu Meiteis including Kondong Lairembi at Moreh, Koubru temple and Ibudhou Pakhangba in Chura-chandpur were not spared and as such his tolerance limit has been exhausted.
The Kuki MLAs have united and placed their demands to the cen-tre, but there is no question of unity among the Meitei MLAs, he said and added that even those Meitei who claim themselves as human rights activist are trying to disintegrate their own people which is very un-fortunate.
He also expressed discontentment over the statement by the Mizoram chief minister saying that such im-pulsive comment threatens unity and integrity of Manipur.
