Biren calls on Governor

Chief Minister N Biren Singh called on Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya at Raj Bhavan this evening and discussed various welfare measures and efforts his Government is taking up to "maintain peaceful coexistence and harmony in the State" .
This was the first meeting between N Biren Singh and Acharya after the latter assumed the office of the Governor of Manipur recently.
Taking to Facebook, Chief Minister N Biren said, "Called on Hon'ble Governor, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya ji at Raj Bhavan today.
"Deliberated on various matters concerning the welfare of all communities, and the ongoing efforts to maintain peaceful coexistence and harmony in the State" .

A statement issued by the Raj Bhavan on the visit said the Chief Minister wished the Governor "a very happy and healthy life ahead" on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh briefed the Governor about the law and order, overall security situation in Manipur, and follow-up measures being taken up by the State administration.
Raj Bhavan stated that the Governor directed the Chief Minister to maintain peace and ensure safety and security of the people in the State.
Yesterday, on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya visited Shree Shree Govindajee Temple at Palace Compound in Imphal at night and offered prayers for peace and prosperity of the State of Manipur.
The Governor extended his wishes to all the people of the State on the occasion and attended a Yagya and Abhishek which were performed in the Temple.
