Sadar Hills bandh affects normal life : Two Wingers damaged, one auto torched

The 24 hr total bandh along National Highway 2 within Sadar Hills imposed by JAC Sadar Hills affected normal life today.
Suspected bandh volunteers damaged the wind shield of two passenger Wingers today at around 1.30 am for defying the bandh at Sapormeina and one passenger autorickshaw was completely torched at 2 am.
All shops and other business establishments in the entire area from Taphou Kuki village to Gamgiphai remained closed while Government offices were also shut for the day.
No other vehicular movement except those exempted from the purview of the bandh were seen plying along the highway.
Movements of state and inter-State passenger buses, Wingers and goods carriers were badly affected.

Bandh volunteers gathered at Taphou Kuki village and Gamgiphai to check movement of vehicles.
Speaking to media persons at Gamgiphai, Lamtinthang Haokip, co-convener JAC Sadar Hills said that movement of loaded trucks was expected along the highway late night this evening.
So instruction was given to volunteers to be alert and well prepared at the two strategic locations.
He continued that no vehicular movement will be allowed till the bandh ends at midnight.
The JAC Sadar Hills Co-convener said the next course of agitation will be announced to the public later.
Except at Sapormeina, no other untoward incident has been reported till the time of filing this report.
