Excessive monetary demand protested

Thoubal, August 27 2024: Proprietors and staffers of clinics and diagnostic centres operating around Thoubal District Hospital staged a sit-in protest in front of the hospital on Tuesday against-excessive and intolerable monetary demands served to clinics and diagnostic centres.

Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, a participant reminded all concerned that they are also rendering public service as diagnostic centres also serve in identifying specific health issues and aid prompt treatment apart from ensuring two square meals for their respective families through the income generated.

However, frequent instances of placing monetary demands and extracting the same through pressure tactics and intimidation are making life difficult for owners of the private establishments to the extent that they could not even pay salary of the staffers, elaborated the protester while appealing to all concerned to withdraw the unfair monetary demand imposed on them.
