College principal clarifies on fee issue

Imphal, April 29 2024: Terming as baseless and unfounded reports published in some local dailies that Mayai Lambi College, Yumnam Huidrom charged additional amount from students for examination form fill-up, the college's principal clarified that examination fees are fixed by the registrar of Manipur University and the college never charged extra amount for the same.

According to a statement of College principal Dr Y Bihari, registrar of Manipur University fixed examination fees and the college had never ever hiked examination fees from the amount fixed by the authority.

For the academic session 2022-23, MU registrar issued ah order on February 22, 2023 mentioning time for examination form fill-up with the fee amount.

However, a revised order was issued later on April 24, 2023 with reduction of examination fee from the earlier order.

Students who had filled up examination forms based on the earlier order were already refunded Rs 400 on furnishing voucher with those who could not produce online voucher and documents are yet to be refunded the amount.

Nevertheless, examination committee of the college is carrying out verification and preparing to refund the amount at the earliest, Dr Bihari informed students through the statement.
