MBCA conducts cleanliness drive

Aimed at creating awareness among the public as well as maintain cleanliness along the National Highway 2, youth department of the Mao Baptist Churches' Association (MBCA) conducted a cleanliness drive from Mao Gate till Senapati bazar on Saturday.
The youth volunteers pruned overgrown vegetation and tree branches along the highway, with special emphasis on curved sections which block drivers' view.
Speaking to media persons, some members informed that as a part of annual programme, the youth department conducts such cleanliness drive along the NH every year on second Saturday of September.
The MBCA youth department also appealed to people who frequently travel on the said the highway to maintain cleanliness and not to discard plastic wastes along the highway.
Senapati District Drivers' Welfare Union (SDDWU) also extended help to the youth volunteers with packaged drinking water and fruit juice during the drive.
The organisers expressed gratitude to all the youth volunteers who participated in the cleanliness drive as well as SDDWU for the aid provided to the youth volunteers and making the programme a success.
