Arms, aminos, catapult recovered; UG cadres held

Imphal, January 27 2025:
Joint security teams recovered a cache of arms and ammunition and arrested two cadres of the UKRA, a Suspension of Operations (SoO) signatory, as well as two active members of PREPAK (Pro) during operations conducted across the state.
On January 26, a search operation conducted in the general area of Nepali Basti, Vietum Khu lien Khoken village road under New Keithelmanbi police station.
Kangpokpi district, led to the recovery of one 5.56 mm Heckler & Koch G3 Rifle with magazine, one modified .303 sniper rifle, one .22 Pistol with magazine, one single barrel rifle, two improvised mortars, five .303 rounds, two Chinese hand grenades, and a Baofeng handset.
Earlier, on January 25, security forces recovered one SLR Rifle, one SMG Carbine, a .32 Pistol marked "Made in USA" with magazine, two country-made 51mm mortars, two .32 rounds, one No 36 hand grenade without detonator, one grenade No 80 Mark-1 .

Police also arrested two active members of the proscribed PREPAK (Pro) from Langol Type-II area under Lamphel PS on January 25 .
The arrested individuals, identified as Sairem Rishikumar alias Pathou (24) and Longjam Nganthoiba alias Achouba alias Lamngakpa (22), were reportedly involved in extortion activities in Imphal and Thoubal areas.
During the operation, police seized six mobile phones, two .32 pistols with magazines, five rounds, five demand letters, and a four-wheeler, police reported.
