RIMS gets new toilet complex, mess hall

Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) director Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma inaugurated a newly-constructed Public Toilet Complex and a Mess Hall at the RIMS Security Barrack No 2 on Monday in the presence of medical superintendent Prof N Sanjib Singh.
According to RIMS Media Cell, the inauguration ceremony was also attended by deputy director (Admin) RK Mecolt Singh, CAO/FA S Sarat Singh, RIMS executive engineer (civil) Kh Ibopishak Singh, faculty members, staff, and security personnel.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof G Sunil highlighted the importance of hygiene, sanitation, and welfare facilities, commended the Engineering Division for the timely completion of the project, and reaffirmed RIMS' com mitment to enhancing infrastructure for the campus community.
He informed that the Public Toilet Complex is designed to cater to the needs of both staffers and visitors, so that proper sanitation facilities are accessible at all times.
As for the Mess Hall, he said that it will serve as a centralised dining facility for the security personnel stationed at Barrack No 2, thereby offering hygienic and nutritious meals to support their well-being.
Meanwhile, the Official Language Cell of RIMS organised a Hindi lecture-cum-workshop on Monday at Banting Hall of the Institute aimed at promoting Hindi usage in official communication, aligning with the central government's Official Language Policy.
RIMS director Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma attended the function as chief guest, while MS Prof N Sanjib Singh and Manipur University assistant professor Dr Chandam Ingo Singh were president and guest of honour respectively.
During the workshop, the speakers highlighted Hindi's importance in government offices and encouraged its adoption, providing practical training and interactive sessions to improve proficiency.
Later, certificates were distributed to all the participants of the workshop, RIMS Media Cell informed.
