CNPO welcomes new executive members

Imphal, April 29 2024:
In an event held at Chandonpokpi community hall in Chandel district, Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) officially installed its newly elected executive council and federal assembly members for the tenure of 2024-2027.The proceedings were conducted in the presence of esteemed individuals from within the community.
According to a statement of CNPO, reverend Hranum Khiang administered the installation while the oath- taking was presided over by CNPO Search Committee convenor K Yaima Maring.
The newly appointed executive council members bring a diverse representation of the Naga community, with individuals from various tribes assuming key positions of responsibility.
Notable appointments include D Thamdok (Lamkang tribe) as president, X Kothang (Maring tribe) as vice-president, and Sh Kalenchung (Monsang tribe) as general secretary.
Other positions have been equally filled by capable individuals from different Naga tribes.
In addition to the executive council, the federal assembly also welcomed its new leadership.
Mosyel Syelsaangthel Khaling was elected as the speaker, with Mac Donald Moyon has assumed the role of deputy speaker.
The community looks forward to the leadership and guidance of the newly installed members as they embark on their journey of service to the Naga people, the statement added.
