Engineers' Day observed at Govt Polytechnic

As in other parts of the country, Institution of Engineers (India), Manipur State Centre observed the 57th Engineers' Day at the seminar hall of Government Polytechnic, Takyel on Sunday.
The observance held under the theme 'Driving Sustainability with Engineering Solutions: Embracing the latest AI driven Technologies' was attended by IEI Manipur ex-chairman M Lokendro as chief guest and incumbent chairman L Swamikanta as president, while controller of technical education Ng Basantakumar, NIT Manipur professor (ECE) Dr A Dinamani and IEI Manipur honorary secretary Dr Th Subhaschandra were guests of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, L Swamikanta informed that the observance is held to mark the birth anniversary of India's first engineer Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, known for his pioneering work in irrigation, flood control, and water resource management.
Mentioning that IEI was formed to follow in the footpath of M Visvesvaraya and encourage engineers to emulate contributions by the country's first engineer for progress of the society, he confided that IEI aims to open an IEI Consultancy Service in the state to help address various issues ranging from house construction to waste management.
